Client: Tropical Butterfly House Wildlife Conservation Park
Scope of our work:
We were delighted to be asked to return to the Tropical Butterfly House Wildlife Conservation Park near Sheffield to replace a polycarbonate roof on a glasshouse which our teams had installed when building the facility in the mid-90s.
Although the original roof on the Bird House had stood the test of time over three decades, it was certainly in need of an upgrade.
It was therefore replaced with a new roof system which has brought multiple benefits, letting in more light, and creating a much better environment for both the birds and visitors.
The job was completed in two phases, with the glasshouse sectioned into halves to ensure the birds could be contained and secured in a dedicated area, whilst another section of the roofing was replaced.
New vents were also installed, including replacement mesh to allow maximum airflow into the glasshouse, whilst ensuring the birds remain safely inside at all times.
Project manager Elliot Wrightson said: “Having also built a glasshouse on site two years ago to house butterflies, we were delighted to complete this third project for this client, who were delighted with the end result and especially the increased light levels within the Tropical Bird House.”
